11/11/14 - ST. PAUL - Dear friends of The May North: We are excited to announce that we played a SOLD OUT album release show on Saturday November 8th at the Turf Club in St. Paul in support of our new album "By a String." It was an exhilarating night, and we are grateful to our friends, the talented Horseshoes and Hand Grenades (Stevens Point, WI) and Tin Can Gin (Duluth, MN) for the opportunity to perform together and to celebrate the release of our new record with them. We would also like to thank local banjo and mandolin extraordinaire Mike Hedding for joining us on stage, and thanks everyone at the Turf Club in St. Paul for their hospitality and for hosting the night. There were so many friendly faces of fans, family, and friends there to support us, and many great memories were made that will not be soon forgotten! We hope you had a chance to pick up our new album, and that you already have a new favorite song or three! We here at The May North are still smiling from Saturday and can't wait to play for y'all again soon. We would like to send a big thank you out to the producer and engineer of our new album, Ryan Young (Trampled By Turtles), and the new album will soon be available for digital download from iTunes and CDBaby, retail distribution, and at the next May North concert. - See more at: http://themaynorth.com.hostbaby.com/index/#sthash.hC6cgrHL.dpuf

Just back from our maiden voyage out to Colorado, we are continuing work on our forthcoming third original album, working on wedding music preparations and performances, and we're also gearing up for upcoming shows and festivals. Check out our Shows Calendar page for when we'll be next in your neck of the woods! --The May North 7/1/14

A couple great road trips coming up this month...on Friday the 13th we head to the Wisconsin Northwoods for a show at the Minocqua Brewing Company and then to UW Stevens Point on Saturday opening for national touring artist Old Man Luedecke. Boats and Bluegrass festival is just around the corner, too, and we will take the stage at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Sept. 28th. Can't wait!

It's been quite a summer with several road trips up to the Minnesota Northwoods for Muskie Days, Buena Vista and Legends & Logging festivals, plus a great night down in Lanesboro at the historic Saint Mane Theater. Now, back down to bluff country for a show at Broken World Records in Winona and two days at the Great River Folk Fest in LaCrosse. See you on down the road!

After more than a month off the road, the May North kicks off a busy summer in Winona tonight! The Boathouse in Levee Park is a brand new venue started by two of our very favorite Winonans, Ed Hoffman (Ed's No Name Bar) and Tom Fastbender (Boats and Bluegrass festival). Jake Ilika will kick things off at 4 PM...see you on the river!
